PHOTO FRIDAY - May Day

Merry Meet & Blessed May Day!

Today's post is a repost (with some editing) from May 1, 2017.

I remember being in Second Grade in Longmont Elementary School - Longmont CO and being taught the Maypole in the school gymnasium. I can't say for sure but with all of the restrictions on learning culture and history, I think I'm safe to bet my granddaughter isn't enjoying the same experience tomorrow.

The Maypole tradition is thousands of years old. For many this ceremony is part of MidSummer otherwise known as Beltane.  The tradition varies from region to region.

For me, when I see the Maypole I see a strong tree, sprouting with new growth, representing all the colors of the populace that make up our world. Men and Women, Boys and Girls of all walks of life and ethnicity working together towards a common goal... Unity.

I'd love for you to share your thoughts.

Don a flower crown, hand bundles of flowers wrapped in paper to hang on someone's door and feel the blessings of what can be when we work together to share the love.

Many Blessings

MEDITATION MONDAY

 Merry Meet, everyone!

I think spring is truly here. We were blessed that our peach trees were not hit by the hard freeze a couple of weeks ago. The trees were loaded with blossoms, which have now turned out their leaves and will soon be setting fruit.

We've had these trees twelve years. One year they were loaded and the wildlife had a feast before we could pick them. In 2019, when the girls were here we got to split ONE peach between the three of us, that's all we got. Bob has yet to get a peach from our trees.

Here is our meditation for this week:

PHOTO FRIDAY - Earth Day Everyday!

 Merry Meet, my friends!

While yesterday was the calendular day for Earth Day, I feel we should celebrate every day. Where would we be without this planet we call home?

As I scrolled through pictures representing the Earth Day search, I found this to be a striking photo.  When I look at this stunning depiction of Earth Day, I feel an immense power and connection.

Please share your thoughts in the comments below.

SHARING THURSDAY - Evolving Vibes

 Merry Meet, my friends.

You know how once you look up something on the internet, then similar other items begin to show up in your feed? The same is true of YouTube. Once you watch a particular category, other channels with the same content begin to appear.

That was true this week. I watch a lot of the witchy videos as one way to keep me grounded during my busy week. This week, I was introduced to Brian at Evolving Vibes.

Brian's channel is very new. He's had his channel for less than a year but really imparts energy into his content. Brian also doesn't tell you what YOU have to do. What he does encourage is 'do what works for you.'

You will find Brian's channel, Evolving Vibes HERE

Please check out his channel and subscribe.

I'm also sharing one of his insightful videos:

PHOTO FRIDAY - Willow

Merry Meet!

I love Spring almost as much as I love Autumn.
I've been busy working in the garden and the greenhouse. We still have a few days only in the upper 60s (F) but I know soon the days will be way too warm to want to be outside.

The Celtic tree tree of the month - the Willow began yesterday so I thought I'd feature this lovely scene today.

My dad could never remember 'weeping willow' so he always referred to this majestic tree as 'the tree that cries'.

I'm hoping to find some willow branches the Earth Mother will share as these are perfect for healing wants.

Do you have a wand collection? Only one that you work with? Please share your stories in the comments below.

MEDITATION MONDAY

 Merry Meet

How was your week? I got a lot accomplished. Planted Beans, snow peas and onions. I managed to get the green house in order enough to get the seed trays going now that it's warm enough. Bob and a friend recovered the greenhouse last year and sealed it up good so I shouldn't have a mother wren stealing my seeds from the trays this year. I wouldn't have minded so much if her eggs would have hatches. I think it got too hot in the greenhouse for them. She tried two different layins without success.

PHOTO FRIDAY - Cherry Blossom

Merry Meet, my friends!

One of my most anticipated signs of Spring is when the Cherry Blossom bush bursts with little balls of fragrant flowers. The individual flowers look similar to that of a lilac bloom but the clusters are round rather than elongated. The smell is soooo sweet.

As the bush began to set buds, we were in for a hard freeze. I pinned a couple of sheets together then clothes-pinned them to the North and West side of the bush to protect as many of the buds as I could. We escaped the hard freeze and I was rewarded with a bush (over 8' tall) loaded with fragrant blooms. They are delicate and don't hold up well under a pelting rain so when storms were headed our way the other night, I clipped several clusters to fill small vases. I keep one by the computer when I'm working and one on my nightstand.

The Cherry Blossom is full of magical properties.
Their delicate nature inspire the future - of things ahead, found in spring they are a sign of rebirth & renewal as well as the energy of abundance

SHARING THURSDAY - Meet Teia Kennedy

 Merry Meet, my friends.

In case you've not guessed, I spend a lot of time on YouTube. That's where my crafting (as in creating) business is centered.

Thanks to algorythms (sounds so  metaphysical, doesn't it), I am often directed to other witch channels after I've watched some.  Last week, YouTube introduced me to Teia Kennedy. I thought I'd share her with you today.

Teia offers book reviews, history on tools, flip-throughs of her witch planner... a little of everything. What I love about Teia's channel is the presentation. She's not bouncing off the walls nor is she using a monotone voice that makes you want to take a nap. Instea, Teia sounds just like the rest of us, the witch next door if yu will.

I invite you to stop by her channel and see what she's up to.  In the mean time, here's one of her videos:

WITCHY BOOKS & TOOLS - Planners

Good morning!

We're to have a beautiful day in the Ozarks. I need pretty days if I'm to get the garden in.

I didn't get the onions planted yesterday. I started when the temps were still too warm outside for me. I managed to get one of the soaker hoses stretched out but that was it. The rocky ground really needs amended if onions are to grow. That is part of my project for today.

At the risk of not keeping up once Bob gets home, I want to try kicking the BOOKS series off again.  The best way for me to keep up is to get as many of my posts done while Bob is gone, scheduling through his next trip home so I'm not dropping the crystal ball.

I thought I'd start the series again with planners. I got the idea after watching Teia Kennedy's videos of her planner flip-throughs. I have several that I've purchased and just never make time to use. I'm hoping having to do the blog posts will help.  I want to play in my planners, to know when things are coming up - I just never seem to get there.

So for the month of April we will be talking planners of varying types.

I always by the Llewellyn Witches' Datebook. I love the drawings, the information, the overall layout. I use this more as a reference tool than a planner. I guess that is why they call it a 'datebook'... all the important dates you need to know for the year are there.

If you need to PLAN for things as I do, then an actual planner layout is a must. To give you an idea of how far off the game I realized this morning my Happy Planner Mini is for 2020! Geez. I'll either be redating this one or going with the many I saw on ETSY (click on the link to see what came up on my search for Witch Planners and see if something speaks to you) I've tabbed several to look at later. You'll find some for Tarot. I'll be talking about those next month.

I also bought the Happy Planner Stargazer sticker book. I found stickers on Etsy as well from Wilson Wylde Sticker Co.

Speaking of Etsy, if you're a digital planner witch, you may want to check out Madame Obscura's Digital witch planner.

Finally, I have the Moonology Diary 2021  I bought 2020 and never opened it. I'm there now, too. My goal for this month is to get on track with my planners and see if I can't integrate the information from the datebook and diary into one planner.

Do you use a planner. If so, I'd love to hear about your planner or style of tracking. If you have a youtube channel, let me know so I can come see what you're up to!

AFFIRMATION MONDAY

Merry Meet, everyone!

With Bob home, I just don't get on here much. I'm trying to schedule all of April's posts as much as I can this week. Then next week I'll schedule all of May's (when he's home the whole first 2 weeks of the month). Bob is gone this week and next so lots of days to focus.

This week's Affirmation:
