Wow, it's been a week. I think things are going to quiet down for a bit.

Aside from my in-law's visit last week, I had the 3rd quarter Llewellyn Conference and a Mixed Media art summit.

 Merry Meet, everyone!

As you read this, I'll just be home from a writer's conference. Was great to meet up with friends, make new connections and think about writing again. 

I keep trying to think positive but Book 2 in this series has fought me from the beginning. The latest hump was losing the flashdrive with the manuscript. Thankfully, I'm not very far in the story. But that will soon change.

A couple of weeks ago I was able to connect with a combat training officer from Ft. Polk. He's retired and has a thriving homesteading business with his wife and kids. He's local so we're going to get together soon to hopefully get a couple of major questions answered that impact the hero side of my book.

Things are crazy the rest of this week. My mother-in-law and her husband arrive tomorrow. They've not visited us in over five years. The last time they were here, Dick helped Bob lay the floor in my studio. We were walls and floor - that was the extent of my now completely-packed studio/ office.

We've had some rain again this week. This time, I'm being more thankful for the rain. I finally felt up to getting out last week and getting the garden planted.

for happy, productive worms!

There are 17 paste tomato plants, 3 Big Bush slicer plants and 8 'wonder what these are?' plants. Those last 8 are volunteers that came out of the compost trench. Because they came from kitchen scraps, they could either be Arkansas Travelers (good for slicing) or grape tomatoes. We shall see. I also have 2 zucchini plants. Those should provide me with enough zucchini to dehydrate for morning glory muffins. I love one of those with my lemon water in the morning.

Merry Meet, everyone!

It's been a couple of weeks! 

After Terri left, as you know, I caught Bob's head cold. I'm still dealing with a cough but it's improving.

The Friday after Terri left, I wound up taking Tabby to the vet. She had to have several teeth removed. We did that last Wednesday and found out the underlying cause of her losing her teeth so young was Feline Leukemia.  Dr. Johnny removed several teeth including one canine. She is doing better and eating up a storm. We know her life span will be shorter than the average cat.

A few years ago, I learned that Earth Mother brings these strays into my life so that they may have a feeling of love and (maybe a little spoiling) during their time here. Tabby is all of that, for sure. For however long she gets to be here, she gets naps and snuggles whenever she wants... even if it means I don't accomplish much.
