NEW MOON

Merry Meet, everyone!

Is it just me or does the New Moon seem to be overshadowed by the Full Moon?

While I really feel the power of a Full Moon, I love a New Moon and the prospect of new beginnings, fresh starts, and an awakening of the possibilities; a chance to go inside ourselves to truly see who we are in the present and what we might want to change for the future.

Bob and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary yesterday - separately. He's on the boat for another week while I hold down the home front and care for the furbabies.

One of my intentions for the New Moon is to start the plan for him to retire sooner rather than later. I know this will be an on-going process and will need to check in with my intentions on a regular basis. The New Moon is the perfect time for me to do this.

Rebecca Willa Davis from WELL + GOOD refers to the New Moon as our accountability partner. From the moment we set new intentions, our journey begins for the next fourteen days, we have the opportunity to take incremental steps on our journey.

If you're brand new to the whole ritual part of celebration, Rebecca gives some great basic steps in THIS ARTICLE.

However you celebrate this cycle, go with intention and reap the benefits of this time.

Blessed Be

WELCOME 2019!

I can't believe we are saying 2019! I have great plans to get back to be more productive and on time this year and I hope you'll come along for the journey.

I had planned to start the blog posts tomorrow but Bob is still home and he is trying to get some medical appointments taken care of before he goes back out. Those trips require near full days with travel/ appointment/ lunch. Ugh. One even has required an overnight to the big city.  That means I'm not getting the creating done ahead of a writing retreat I have the 3-6.  So my plan now is to spend the week following the retreat to get posts scheduled on the blog beginning Monday January 14th.

In the mean time, take a look at Over The Moon Academy. If you use your Tarot cards or want to look for patterns in the world around you and their meaning for you, please check out Miss Kristen's site. I have joined her community and am looking forward to working in my #magicalplaybookplanner this year, and in years to come. We do a lot of sharing on Instagram. I hope you'll join us!

LUNAR Eclipse appears with our Wolf Moon on January 20th... exactly 1 month after Yule! I am so looking forward to this. Bob bought me a day/ night vision monocular for Christmas and I can't wait to use it for this spectacular event.  I will be posting more on the moon prior to that night.

Blessings

TOOLS - Techy Witch

I'm a traditionalist by most standards. I use hard copy planners, read print books over eBook and prefer curling up in bed or my chair with an actual television as opposed to streaming something on my tablet.

That said, I do have apps on my phone that I love. MOON PHASES by BHMedia is one of my favorite apps. I believe it's only for IOS  There are several similar apps ranging from Free to less than $3.00 Many of the Free appear to have in-purchase options that upgrade what you have available to you in the app.

I can look at any given day and see the moon phase, including the percentage, moon rise/ set time, coordinating zodiac sign and how many nights until the next quarter and Full Moon.

The app also gives information for the best hunting/ fishing, weather/ humidity/ wind and sun data. One of my favorite parts of the app is the Planting view. This part shows what plants are best for planting in the current phase as well as what you should avoid doing up until the next full moon phase.

Is there an app you like to use in your Magickal arsenal? I love checking out new things that I can add to my cabinet - portable or otherwise.
Blessings

Finally Dry

We have one of the most beautiful nights in the Ozarks we've seen in almost three weeks. For one, it's dry. We've had over 20 inches of rain in the past three weeks - 17 of that in the early 7 days of that period.

But tonight the sky is clear, the stars are bright and there is a beautiful cradle moon. Every time I see the cradle moon my mind goes back to a Fables story book I received as a child nearly 45 years ago (and I still have). I can't see the cradle without seeing the storybook witch in the black dress and pointy hat. In this particular story she was just sitting 'side-saddle' on the moon. I think that is my first memory of a 'witch' and I thought how cool it must be to sit up there and see everything in the world from up there.

I might not sit on the moon but I know if I sit quietly and let the earth talk to me I will see everything I'm meant to.

There is so much to learn if we'll only listen.
Many Blessings
